The Performance Analyst is responsible for:

  • Collecting data to create performance indicators, dashboards, and reports.
  • Audit and evaluate the performance of departments (Operations, Maintenance, QHSE, etc.)
  • Conducting root cause analysis of performance.
  • Support the Business Performance Manager in the deployment of the Business & Operational Performance Management System.

In addition, he will provide support to the Finance team in delivering reporting to managers inside the organization and outside to the Keolis group.  Will be autonomous and proactive in preparing the reports, forecast, annual budgeting process, and operating plan variance analysis related to the performance regime.

This function acts as a member of the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support optimal business decision-making. The Performance Analyst will maintain close relations and understanding of the operational teams and data.


  • People:

    • Identify areas for improvement.
  • Performance Analysis – Monthly Review:
    • Analyze data and use this analysis to create compelling evidence-based and actionable data stories to share with stakeholders to drive decisions.
    • Make sure data and analysis are of high quality and accuracy and work with a variety of qualitative and quantitative data
    • Analysis and investigations of the failures, suggest measures of improvement.
    • Monitoring of performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance (both operational and financial).
    • Will be able to work with a Business Intelligence tool and provide dashboard reports
    • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies. Follows up on performance action plans within his scope of work.
  • Performance Analysis – Business Partnering:
    • Work in partnership with other teams (Operations, Maintenance, HQSE, etc.) to:
      • Develop the Operational Performance Management System.
      • Understand their activities/processes and improve performance through the definition/creation of leading KPIs.
    • Coordinate the design of the performance action plan. Monitor the implementation of action plans, helping departments to understand the financial/operational impacts of their initiatives.
    • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators.
    • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Financial Performance Planning:
    • Support the annual performance budget process (timeline, templates, and tool), in line with the Keolis-MHI business planning process.
    • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and trends.
    • Support the regular re-forecast of the budget, enabling improved visibility on future financial performance.
    • Provide in-depth analysis of variations to budget and forecasting of the performance regime penalties.
    • Support the Finance team in maintaining the budget pack (presentation and supporting files) to assist in the communication of the budget and the regular re-forecast, including the preparation of the annual Business Plan for the RTA.
  • Contract Variations related to Performance:
    • When required, provide performance information to assess the financial impact of Variations.


  • Reporting and Compliance:
    • Ability to create KPIs, visual reports, and dashboard

    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong leadership with an ability to explain complicated challenges to different areas of the business
  • Performance:
    • Understanding of complex performance regimes in relation to the contract requirement
    • Strong excel modeling skills
  • IT Skills, Data orientated:
    • Excellent skills in Ms Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Strong computer skills (business intelligence tool – Power BI)
    • Ability to work with large quantities of data


  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a Performance Analyst role.
  • Experience in data analysis in a complex business.
  • Ideally have an experience in the railway/transportation industry.
  • Ideally has experience working closely with the Performance & Finance team.


  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, and/or Engineering discipline.
