Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager to join the Informa Connect division.

As a Marketing Manager you will be responsible for marketing large scale events and exhibitions across several industries, driving attendee, exhibitor and sponsor acquisition and at times also delegate acquisition. You will be part of a small team orientated work environment and will be responsible for the spend and ROI of your campaigns.

You will be defining and implementing the overall marketing strategy for several events working towards objectives and deadlines. As a result driven marketer, you will have full control over you budget and analyse what channels and data lists are performing to proactively tailor your campaign.

What this role involves:

•Develop the marketing strategy and integrated marketing plans to attract a visitor audience to the event and generate exhibitor leads for sales team to convert

•Drive exhibition and sponsorship revenue as well as attendee registration through all online and offline channels, with a key focus on digital channels such as email and paid digital campaigns (PPC, SEO, paid social ads, affiliates etc)

•Budget allocation & management – Ensure optimal allocation of budgets, weekly update of budget tracker, negotiating costs as applicable.

•Marketing campaigns & collateral – Planning campaign elements & marketing collateral, briefing agencies and teams involved, ensuring quality of work meets Informa Connect standards, including but not limited to emails, online & social media advertising, media partnerships & purchase, database build etc.

•Audience segmentation – Visitor/exhibitor audience profiling, study media consumption behaviour, developing tailored messages and value proposition development.

•Content Marketing – Ensure content and campaign plans and activities are fully integrated. Work on content such as blog posts, whitepapers, interviews and reports for events with Agencies and Media Partners

•Ensuring related websites are fully up to date with the latest content and key messaging is displayed throughout and analyse website performance throughout the campaign

•Identify data acquisition strategy to grow the existing databases

•Set up and management of partnerships with external organisations and suppliers to ensure maximum exposure at lowest cost to event budget

•Regularly review campaign analysis to ensure that the revenue and audience KPI will be achieved

•Develop a 365-day approach to community management across social and digital platforms to support digital revenue KPIs for the events.

•Prepare KPI reports for the team

Key Performance Indicators

– Timelines are adhered to for all campaign activities

– Optimum allocation of budget and achieve low cpa

– Exhibition and sponsorship revenue, visitor numbers and audience per event

– Digital product revenue

Knowledge and Experience Required for the Role

• Proven track record of delivering data driven marketing campaigns and working in a B2B environment generating leads for 3-5 years, with conference/exhibition experience

• Formal marketing qualification or certificate, and/or degree level education or equivalent

• High level of understanding of digital marketing including email, website performance, SEO, paid and organic digital channels focused on driving lead generation and registrations

•Awareness of content marketing with an eye for spotting content generation opportunities and an eye for the original

•High level of copywriting skill, with an exception level of attention to detail

• Must be goal oriented, flexible, and creative under pressure – often while juggling several projects at once and under budget constraints

• Communicate effectively with all technical partners, key stakeholders and team members

• Great organisational and time management skills to lead a project forward

• Enjoys a challenge and finding solutions for problems

• A willingness to do a variety of related job duties
