About the Opportunity
We at Jacobs are leading the transition to a cleaner, low emission electric future, tackling climate change and helping Britain achieve net zero.
The Joint Design Office (JDO) was created by our client to reinforce Hinkley Point C’s (HPC) site-based engineering capability to allow for a quicker response to on site engineering queries and problems. Among its main aims, the JDO is committed to managing the changes to Civil, Mechanical and Electrical design during construction according to safety, quality, schedule and cost.
As part of a leading joint venture in Edvance, one of our primary aims is to save time on construction by having on-site reactive answers and solutions, allowing construction teams to continue their activities with minimal delay. The JDO also protects Responsible Designer teams, in France, and allows them time to focus on core engineering design.
The Change Management Board (CMB) is a site- based decision- making body put in place to resolve conflicting requirements in each construction area. We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Coordinator to join this team, responsible for collating information for the CMB, and ultimately help manage the change management process.
Reporting in to the Change and Configuration Manager, your role as CMB Coordinator will be to gather information from construction areas ahead of Change Management Board meetings, chaired by the Senior Area Project Manager, as well as partake in each meeting and track any actions.
You will have the following main accountabilities:
- Facilitate the collation of information prior to the CMB
- Ensure that information is in the appropriate template
- Maintain minutes from each CMB meeting, and track any actions
- Once actions are approved, ensure the appropriate workflow is provided in the product lifecycle management platform (Teamcenter)
- Contribute to monthly metrics on CMB performance to demonstrate process effectiveness
- Escalate issues when appropriate to the Area Manager or Configuration Manager
Here’s What You’ll Need:
In order to be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication, organisation and presentation skills
- Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and contributors across the business, building relationships and challenging where necessary
- Tenacious approach to ensure topics are progressed to completion on time
- Resilience, adaptability and a willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work and act autonomously
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft tools
- Strong written and verbal English
- Basic understanding of engineering projects
- Understanding of project schedule and cost elements
